The Hive is a community venue in the heart of Rayleigh, Essex. Whether you need a room for eight or a hall for three hundred and fifty, there’s a space here that fits.

The building has served this community for over 160 years. We’ve extended it, restored it, and opened it up for a new generation — affordable to hire, accessible throughout, and designed to be genuinely useful to the people of Rayleigh and beyond.

Eleven rooms and spaces are available to hire, from an intimate counselling room to a full chapel with a professional AV system. Every room has adjacent kitchen facilities and toilets. There’s a commercial kitchen capable of serving 140 covers, free full-fibre wifi throughout, and a lift connecting all three floors.

Meetings, fitness classes, children’s groups, weddings, concerts, funerals, parties, craft sessions, co-working — The Hive is built for all of it.
